While PaintMyMinis is designed primarily to keep track of your color mixtures it comes with a collection of nice features to make your painting experience even more fun.

PaintMyMinis lets you organize your materials in a pleasing manner: give them custom categories, file them in appropriate projects, give your miniatures and projects descriptive images from your library or camera and take notes on layers, colors, materials and minis.

Each layer is different on your miniature: give your layers custom categories like “Highlight”, “Drybrush”, “Wash” etc. what ever you like! Is there any special way to apply this layer? Take a note! Furthermore: never forget the order of all layers again. With PaintMyMinis you can just work from top to bottom!

PaintMyMinis assists you with choosing harmonic color schemes for your projects and keeps you focused on your current scheme. It supports different automatic color harmonies (harmonic, complementary, triad, harmonic accented, split complementary) to help you with your choice. Even if you are not (yet) an expert in choosing pleasing colors, the color wheel can support you!

Keep track of your mixture ratios of a layer and mix up to 4 colors for each layer. It will also automatically calculate the ratio in milliliter or fluid ounces if you like to mix a big pot for your whole army or project.

The application comes with 76 carefully crafted icons to describe your materials. And there are even more to come!

Connect your mixtures to the real world by printing labels for your pots and get the feeling of what PaintMyMinis is really for: mixing paints and getting your painting projects done! I recommend small lab glassware bottles or small drop bottles for individual mixtures. Just check eBay for inexpensive ones!

A simple shoppinglist and in-stock system is integrated into your paint library to keep track on which paints you need to get the next time you go shopping.

Send your paint collection or materials to your friends via eMail or AirDrop. Backup and store these files or share your painting technique on your personal blog or website. Just as easy as it gets: tap the file in Safari, drop the file in your Dropbox or send an eMail to your iOS device and import it into your project!

Scan your favorite miniature paints into your paint library (if they are available on PaintBay) or define your own custom paints. Build a library and keep an eye on your own personal in-stock and shoppinglist. Even if a brand decides to rename its paints: renaming them in your library will rename them in all your projects!

Export your materials in the standard CSV fileformat that can be read from your favorite text editing or spreadsheet program independent of the PaintMyMinis application. You can also backup your whole database (which is recommended) on a regular basis.
